High-Accuracy Tested Independently: Apeks M12l (AP30 Laser)

The APEKS M12L (AP30 Laser) GNSS receiver, equipped with an integrated laser rangefinder, recently earned first place in the ГНСС Баттл 2025 в Казани in Kazan, Russia. In a detailed independent field test, well-known GNSS reviewer Alexander Ustinov evaluated the receiver's performance in real-world surveying conditions.

"I'm conducting a field test of the APEKS M12L (AP30 Laser) GNSS receiver, which won first place in the ГНСС Баттл 2025 в Казани in the category of GNSS receivers with integrated laser rangefinders, " Ustinov introduced at the start of his review.

During the test, the APEKS M12L (AP30 Laser) operated in RTK mode using corrections from a network base station 7.4 km away. The receiver achieved a fixed RTK solution within seconds of startup.

"The fixed solution was obtained literally within a few seconds, " he noted, adding that the measured accuracy was 7 mm in horizontal positioning and 14–18 mm in vertical positioning.

Ustinov conducted three separate RTK initializations, taking three measurements each time. Even after power cycling the receiver between tests, the APEKS M12L (AP30 Laser) maintained highly consistent results:

  • Maximum deviation on one axis: 35 mm

  • Maximum deviation on the other axis: 32 mm

  • Maximum deviation in height: 24 mm

"I made three measurements in each of the three fixed solutions, and the maximum difference in height was only 24 mm, " Ustinov reported.

The receiver tracked up to 27 satellites simultaneously across all major constellations—GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou—while paired with the APEKS CS3i rugged Android controller and Apeksurv software.

"The receiver maintained a stable fixed solution and high accuracy throughout the test, " he concluded.

With both industry recognition and real-world testing confirming its capabilities, the APEKS M12L (AP30 Laser) stands out as a reliable, high-Precision Gnss solution for demanding fieldwork in land surveying, construction, mapping, and infrastructure projects.
